How to Turn Your Outdoor Space Into an Oasis

A comfortable outdoor space is essential, in my opinion, so we’re diving into all of the simple things you can do to upgrade yours this season!

With the weather heating up, I know so many of us are spending more and more time outside lately. I just finished setting up my patio for spring and summer, and I am so excited to sit out there and relax in the sunshine. It’s my little oasis! A comfortable outdoor space is essential, in my opinion, so we’re diving into all of the simple things you can do to upgrade yours this season. Chic decor, little hacks, faux plans, and so much more. Let’s get into it!

If you need help styling your outdoor areas, don’t miss my post with all of my styling tips and tricks HERE.

layer your lighting

There’s something about lighting that instantly shifts the mood from just a patio to a space you actually want to hang out in. String lights overhead, a few lanterns tucked into corners, and candles scattered on tables to create that soft, cozy vibe. It doesn’t have to be complicated! Just layering a few different light sources makes everything feel more intentional. It’s one of those small upgrades that makes a big difference once the sun goes down!

add softness wherever you can

Outdoor spaces can sometimes feel a little stiff, so this is your chance to warm things up! Bring in throw pillows, an outdoor rug, and even a lightweight blanket for those cooler nights. Anything that makes the space feel a bit more lived-in. It’s less about perfection and more about creating a spot you actually want to relax in at the end of the day.

bring in greenery

Plants have a way of making any space feel more alive and inviting! Adding potted greenery or some flowers instantly brings life into your space. And if you’re not quite in your plant-mom era right now, faux options absolutely do the trick (that’s what I use!).

add one elevated touch

This is where things go from cute to okay wait, I want to hang out here all day. Adding one standout piece, like a fire pit, a chic umbrella, or an outdoor bar cart, can completely change the feel of your space. It doesn’t have to be over the top! Just something that makes it feel a little more put-together (and a little more fun).
