Working with Hewn Floor
Hewn Floor makes the entire process from design to execution so seamless! If this is your first time making such a big home design decision or you’re simply overwhelmed, they offer free design consultations with their in-house designer, Caitlin. You can schedule an appointment online and you will meet via Google Meet to discuss all of your ideas and concerns. If you need help VISUALIZING your new flooring in its space, they have an amazing ‘view in your room’ feature. Be sure to upload a clear image of your space and it gives you SO many options to choose from. It even includes pricing per square foot. You’re able to download the mock-up image with your ‘new flooring’ and you can choose to download the flooring information as well so you don’t have to search for it again. Hewn Floor even goes as far to help find an installer for you!
Choosing my Flooring
Since this cabin is going to be used for summers and vacations for decades to come, I knew we needed beautiful but durable, eco-friendly flooring. Once I came across the Becki Owens collection, I knew I was in the right place. Her ultimate goal was to create something aesthetic that was also durable and functional which is EXACTLY what I needed for the cabin. I ordered several samples of flooring (ships FREE in U.S. only) to compare colors and how it looked in the space. Flooring FAQ
Stoneform flooring was the ideal choice for the cabin because even though it looks and feels like hardwood, it doesn’t require the upkeep and maintenance of traditional wood floors. Did I mention it’s also waterproof and scratch-resistant? Anyone with pets, kids, or who loves hosting, knows this is SUCH a big win! They offer a 20-year residential and 10-year commercial warranty, as well which was super re-assuring.
All in all, I would highly recommend Hewn Floor to anyone looking to start a similar project in their home. From the resources that are easily accessible on their website and the ability to have samples shipped to your home for free (U.S. only) to the durability and beauty of the flooring itself – it is WORTH it!
