I am always dreaming up new projects for our home and challenging myself to try new things! As someone who has always loved neutrals and a minimalistic look, I wanted something different for Aspen’s room. It was about that time to transition her over to a ‘big girl’ bed and I thought this was a great opportunity for a room refresh! Aspen loves the color pink and I wanted to include that throughout her room with accent furniture, decor, and bedding. Honestly, a toddler’s bedroom doesn’t require too much but it is still important to create a magical, comfortable, and safe space for them. Personally, I think this room is a dream come true for a toddler – Aspen seems to agree!

Even though a toddler’s room doesn’t need much, you must still remember the basics! Any room needs a functional nightstand, and this scalloped detail makes it such a unique find. I decided to add this fun decorative box for all of Aspen’s little treasures, but it could also be used as a tissue box holder. This pink lamp is certainly out of my normal home decor comfort zone, but it is nice to step outside the box every now and again!

My little girl is growing up, and her cozy reading nook needed a bit of a refresh, too! She loves cuddling up in this chair, so I wanted to add a personalized touch with this pillow. She can put her little feet up on her faux fur stool for maximum comfort! These beautiful pink floral drapes tie the room together beautifully – they complement the throw pillow, blanket, and area rug SO well. I may put her side table back in this corner, but I haven’t decided quite yet!

A room refresh doesn’t always mean starting from scratch but in this case – it was kind of necessary. Transitioning from a nursery to a ‘big girl’ room means new furniture, decor, bedding – the works! These pink accent pieces are really starting to grow on me. The Olympic area rug has the perfect blend of blue and pink hues (it’s like it was somehow designed with Aspen’s room in mind haha)! This honestly goes to show you can add color to a room without going overboard.
